During the manifest check and cache update process, the browser will fire a sequence of events on the ApplicationCache object. You can use ApplicationCache's event handler properties to register event handlers or you can use the EventTarget methods. The handlers are passed an Event object. Progress events, however, are passed a ProgressEvent object. This object is used to keep track of how many bytes have been downloaded.
