Compiled Programming Languages
Most of the programs that are on your computer are written in languages that are compiled. Compiling is the process of creating a file that will run on a computer by translating the code a programmer writes into instructions that a computer can understand. Once a program is compiled, you can run it on your computer. Compiled programs are converted directly into instructions a computer can understand. This makes them faster than a program written with a scripting language. Compiling a program can be a time-consuming process: You have to write the program, compile it, and then test it. If the program doesn't work, you have to go through this whole process again.
