A Bushing is an insulating liner. A cable or wire will pass through the center of a bushing. To make sure that no damage is made to the cable or wire, a bushing might be used to prevent the cable or wire from rubbing against a sharp edge. Bushings are commonly found on switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and other high voltage equipment.
