Local Variables

Local variables are variables that differ from global variables in that they have local scope. What this means is that the variable can only be accessed locally within the function that it was declared. You are able to get the value or change the value of the variable only from inside the function that declared that variable. Be sure not to use the name of any global variables when declaring local variables.
