Programming libraries are large collections of code that are used to reduce the amount of work needed by the programmer. Libraries have the following benefits:

  • Well tested solutions to common problems
  • Time saving
  • If the library is for a web-based language, may solve cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Provides advanced effects and features
  • Requires less code in your files; cleaner and smaller files (still need to reference large library)
