The HTTP PUT request method is used for uploading files to a server at the specified target URL. Web browsers do not support the PUT method and web servers should not process these requests. Doing so would create a security risk. The PUT method may have some other nonweb client/server implementations. File upload is most often implemented through the POST method, where a server-side script handles it.
