Reusable earplugs are another product available for ear protection from loud noises. They are made out of rubber as opposed to foam used in disposable earplugs. This allows reusable earplugs to be washable. Other steps taken to make sure workers reuse their earplugs was the invention of the corded reusable earplugs. These earplugs have a cord that connects the pair of earplugs. The cord can tuck into your shirt and helps prevent you from losing your earplugs. Reusable earplugs are more expensive than the disposable earplugs upfront, but they pay for themselves over time. Also, reusable earplugs are more environmentally friendly. When purchasing earplugs, it is also good to look into other options, such as earmuffs.
