Statement blocks combine multiple statements into one compound statement. Each statement within a statement block is enclosed inside the block's curly braces ({}). There is no semicolon after the closing curly brace. The statements within the statement block end with semicolons. Variables declared within a statement block are not private to the block, because JavaScript does not have block scope.
