Your electrical current travels through circuits. Circuits can be thought of as pipes that transport electrons.

When it comes to home wiring, circuits consist of two or more wires carrying power from the service panel to the electrical device and then back to the panel. A circuit breaker or fuse in the service panel protects each circuit from overloading. These circuits are also called branch circuits.
