The <pre> tag is an HTML tag that preserves both spaces and line breaks. "pre" stands for preformatted. This HTML tag is useful when trying to preserve your whitespace (for example: when showing programming code or publishing poetry). The font-family displayed with the <pre> tag is a fixed-width font, usually Courier.
