When buying and selling car electronics, it is important to understand which parts are more valuable. This can save you money at the time of purchase and help guide your decision when keeping in mind the possibility of reselling your purchased item down the road.

When comparing both OEM (original equipment manufacturer) - parts made by your car manufacturer - to aftermarket parts, OEM parts tend to resell better. The reason behind the better resale value of OEM parts can be attributed to their higher quality. A higher quality product leads to a longer product life. Also these products will almost always come with better support. To get support for your OEM part simply take it to the manufacturer.

Lastly, OEM products might have additional features specific to that vehicle. Custom features include input and output functions geared specifically to that vehicle. The personalization of these electronic devices to the vehicles themselves makes for a more satisfied owner.
