Treat All Electrical Lines as Having Power

When you're doing electrical work, take as many safety precautions as you can. One of the rules all electricians go by is treating all wires as live wires (or hot wires. The reason for this is that someone else could power a line that you thought had no power. Accidents like this could be fatal and could be easily avoided by simply treating all lines as having power. You can do this by:

  • Never touching two wires at the same time
  • Don't touch a wire and a ground at the same time
  • Grab bare wires with insulated tools
  • Put wire nuts loosely on bare wires that are currently not being worked on
