Java applets are small programs that run in your web browser. Java applets are written in the Java programming language. In order to use these applets, you must have the correct Java software installed on your computer. If you think the webpage is not displaying your Java applets correctly, check the version of Java you have installed on your computer against what your website says you should be using. If your version matches the website's version, try again with a different browser. In general, Java applets tend to start up slowly and can sometimes cause your browser to crash. Examples of some environments that tend to use Java applets include online classrooms, web based tools, and administrative software.
