The grantor, often referred to as the grant-maker or funder, is the organization or agency that offers the grant. They are the organization or agency that receives your funding request and decides whether you are the right person or organization to receive their funds. Grantors include the 26 US federal government agencies, state and local government agencies, nearly 100,000 foundations and corporations, and individual philanthropists.
